Pre-Marital and Marital Mediation

Pre-Marital Mediation

Pre-Marital Mediation allows couples to work together to resolve possible conflicts that may arise during marriage and divorce. Pre-marital mediation facilitates the means to dispel misconceptions or unreasonable expectations that may come up prior to marriage. Mediation prior to taking that leap of marriage helps ground the couple by establishing communication and laying a road map on how to strengthen the relationship.
Usually, the result of Pre-Marital Mediation is the formation of a pre-nuptial/pre-marital agreement. Such an agreement is not necessary, and the mediation serves as a means of establishing these clear lines of communication between a couple.

The following issues are normally considered:
⦁ Premarital Assets and Debts
⦁ Marital Property
⦁ Management of Assets and Income
⦁ Credit and Dept
⦁ Spousal Support/Alimony

Marital Mediation

Marital Mediation is a growing area with Family Mediation. The goal is for couples to stay married.
The purpose of Marital Mediation is to help couples identify their common commitment in their marriage, improve communication, address the problems that have arisen over the course of the marriage, and how to lessen future conflict.

A post nuptial or marital agreement may result from the process but not necessary. The sole purpose of marital mediation is to facilitate a deeper understanding of the married couple’s relationship.
The approach to this form of mediation is combined with TLR ADR, LLC’s approach and Imam Nadim’s years of experience in marital counseling.
